Jonathan Levine is Professor and Chair of Urban and Regional Planning at the University of Michigan. He writes on transportation and land-use planning and is the author of Zoned Out: Regulations, Markets, and Choices in Transportation and Metropolitan Land Use (Resources for the Future, 2006). He is currently directing a three-year study funded by the Environmental Protection Agency, Federal Highway Administration, Graham Environmental Sustainability Institute, and Michigan Center for Advancing Safe Transportation throughout the Lifespan that is measuring and comparing transportation accessibility between 30 of the largest 50 metropolitan areas in the United States. He has taught as a visitor at Princeton University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology.
