Amnon Frenkel is a Associate Professor at the Faculty of Architecture and Town Planning at the Technion – Israel Institute of Technology, where he serves as chair of the Graduate Program for Urban and Regional Planning and member of the board of directors of the Center for Urban and Regional Studies. He is also a Senior Researcher at the Samuel Neaman Institute for Advanced Studies in Science and Technology at the Technion. He served as the secretary of The Israel Association of Planners and today he is the secretary of the Israeli Section of the European Regional Science Association. Dr. Frenkel is an urban planner and a geographer. He received his academic degree in Haifa University and the Technion in Haifa. His publications include books, chapters in books (in English and Hebrew), and many articles on issues of urban and regional planning as well as technology policy, with an emphasis on spatial land use, urban sprawl and diffusion of innovation in space.
