Ernest Alexander is professor emeritus of urban planning at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee, USA, and currently practices in Israel where he has taught at the Hebrew University, Tel-Aviv University and the Technion.  His specialization in planning theory focuses on decision making, planning institutions, interorganizational coordination and institutional design; ongoing interest in evaluation led to recent work on planning rights. Alexander is author of Approaches to Planning (2nd. ed. 1992), How Organizations Act Together (1995), edited Evaluation in Planning (2006) and is editor of Tichnun, Journal of the Israel Association of Planners.
